Kids Learning Together

A 3/4 Class Blog

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi!!!!

Year 2/3D have been learning about the Olympic Games. To get into the Olympic spirit we had a special day at school on Friday 27th July. We dressed up in colours supporting our country of origin. We were to have an olympic tabloid sport session but this was unfotunately postponed due to bad weather. We enjoyed a sausage sizzle for lunch along with a fruit box and icy-pole. Click on the link below for more photos from our Olympic Sports Day.

What do you like about the Olympic Games? Do you have a favourite athlete or sport?
Do you know any fun facts about the Olympic Games, the host cities, the athletes, events, mascots or medals?

    Hi 2/3D
Glad to see so many of you are enjoying the Olympic Games telecast from London.
Have you seen the pole vaulting?
It looks very difficult to me.
I wonder how they manage to run quite fast, with such a long pole, then place it in a position where the athlete uses the pole to spring up very high and over the bar? It must take alot of concentration and practise.
I hope Steve Hooker, our Australian representative in pole vaulting does well. I will be watching him!

    Hi 2/3D,
What I like about the Olympic Games is that people from many different countries come together to enjoy something that they will never forget. My favourite athletes are Usain Bolt and Sally Pearson.
Did you now that London has hosted the Olympic Games most often in all of history??
