On ANZAC Day we remember the fallen soldiers of Australia who fought in WW1 and WW2.
April 25th was chosen as the day for ANZAC day since on the 25th the first Australian troops landed at Gallipoli.
ANZAC is an important day in Australian culture as it is a day that all of Australia unites as one to remember fallen Australian and New Zealand soldiers.
What makes this ANZAC day so important is that it is the 100th Anniversary of the landing of ANZACs on the shores of Gallipoli.

I gathered information in TV that in ANZAC no one gave up even when they broke a arm or a leg. One of the ANZAC soldier never gave up. His nickname is the cricketer because he used his catching balls skill to catch the enemy’s bomb and threw it back at them. ANZAC is a important day because we thank the great great people who sacrifices their life for ours. And to save the country and be remembered.

We remember and commemorate the sacrifice of our soldiers in past wars. services are held from dawn around the country.

25 April 1915 was when the Australian and New Zealand troops landed in Gallipoli to fight the native Turks.

As a new nation the Great War to 1914 to 1918 was the first time Australians fought under their own flag and suffered major casualties.

On ANZAC day we all remember our soldiers who fought the world war 1. We celebrate this on April 25 as the soldiers arrived on Gallipoli which is in modern day Turkey.
The ANZACs were mostly the combined armed corps from Australia and New Zealand so it is celebrated in both the countries.
A traditional dawn service is held for the remembrance of those who lost their lives in the war and this year it is the 100 th anniversary to make it all important.

    Dear Miss Dickson ,

These are my thoughts on ANZAC Day:

What happens on ANZAC Day? – We spend the day remembering those that sacrificed their lives defending our country and protecting our way of life and freedom.

Why do you think April 25th was chosen as the day on which to remember the Anzacs? – This date is the day the Anzacs landed on Gallipoli at dawn by boats, and many of our soldiers died on that beach.

Why do you think that ANZAC Day is such an important day in Australia and New Zealand? – because it was the very first time Australia or New Zealand had been involved in a war. The landing at Gallipoli in 1915 reminds all Australians and New Zealanders of the spirit of our nations and how we all unite and protect what is important to us.

What makes this ANZAC Day important? – This year is especially important because it marks 100 years since Gallipoli.
